Emanuel Viebahn is a lecturer in philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Oxford (2015). He has worked as a senior lecturer at Universität Zürich (2018/2019) and has been a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge (2017/2018).

Emanuel Viebahn's main research interests lie in the philosophy of language and communication and in metaphysics. Currently, he is working on theoretical and ethical aspects of insincere communication, on information, disinformation and science communication, and on issues of metasemantics, semantics and pragmatics.

Emanuel Viebahn is member of the CAS Research Group "Persuading under Uncertainty: Challenges and Norms of Science Communication" of Prof. Dr. Ophelia Deroy and a Visiting Fellow at CAS from May to July 2022.
