Biomarkers in Stroke

Termin:

7. November 2024 - 8. November 2024

Ort:

Center for Advanced Studies Seestr. 13 80802 Munich

Workshop organized by Dr. Steffen Tiedt (CAS Young Center/LMU), Prof. Dr. Mira Katan (Basel), Prof. Dr. Peter Kelly (UC Dublin) and Prof. Dr. John McCabe (Dublin).

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability, yet we have only few effective treatments and an unsatisfactory understanding of human stroke pathophysiology and risk of stroke recurrence. Current diagnostic algorithms are insufficient to capture these processes in daily clinical routine and novel biomarkers are needed. The workshop aims at providing a platform for stroke biomarker research that also incorporates related fields like neuroscience and cardiovascular medicine as well as advanced diagnostic tools including imaging.

Participants include Heinrich Audebert (Charité, Berlin), Alastair Buchan (Oxford), Jonathan Coutinho (Amsterdam UMC), Martin Dichgans (LMU), Christina Jern (Göteborgs Universitet), Carlos Molina (UPC, Barcelona), Joan Montaner (Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla), Christian Nolte (Charité, Berlin), Johanna Ospel (University of Calgary), Luca Saba (Cagliari), Pierre Seners (Hôpital Fondation A. de Rothschild, Paris), Luciano Sposato (Western University), Bernd Wintersperger (University of Toronto).
