Petra Levis: Whole Milk (2018)

"The painter Petra Levis reflects on how painting works through painting itself: how depicted objects behave when one sees them not as funktional items, but simply as forms and surfaces. Through reflection, the objects indeed lose a part of their representationalism and become abstract entities. Petra Levis' painting makes a subject of itself. The subject of her painting is not a glass, but rather the act of painting using the example of a glass." (Michael Haussmann)
Petra Levis studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. She lives and works in Munich.
