100 years after the beginning of the revolution in Munich, the Franz Marc Museum is showing works from its rich collection from the interwar period. Among the artists on display are such well-known names as Max Beckmann, Lovis Corinth, Walter Gramatté, George Grosz, Erich Heckel, Georges Kars, Max Kaus, Paul Klee and Max Pechstein. Analogous to the concept of the CAS lecture series, the exhibition deals with the question to what extent artists dealt with scientific concepts of their time and incorporated them into their works. Art works were selected which can be understood as contributions to an "anthropology of war", "analysis of the self" or "sociology of everyday life".

An exhibition of the Franz Marc Museums Kochel am See in cooperation with the Center for Advanced Studies.

At the Vernissage on 12 April 2018 Claudia Kreile, M.A., (LMU) will give the introduction.
