Lunch Talk: Measuring – Reconstructing – Scaling Down. Parameters of Archaeological Models in Museums since the Late 18th Century

Date:

Wed:
12:15 pm

6 May 2026

Location:

Center for Advanced Studies Seestraße 13 80802 München

Speaker: PD Dr. Charlotte Schreiter
Chair: Dr. Buket Altinoba (LMU)

Charlotte Schreiter is a Research Associate at the LVR-Landesmuseum Bonn. In her work, she is frequently confronted with questions of scale, as ancient monuments and complex archaeological sites are, as a rule, primarily large. In contrast, relics and objects from bygone eras are small. What is conceived and viewed in conjunction within the disciplines of classical studies can appear as a heterogeneous juxtaposition in museum education.

The research colloquium at CAS primarily addresses university members.
