Workshop organized by Dr. Philipp Wicke (CAS Researcher in Residence/LMU).
As Artificial Intelligence continues to evolve, particularly with the advent of Large Language Models (LLMs), there is a growing need to go beyond purely textual interactions and embrace the richness of human communication, including non-verbal cues like gestures, facial expressions and body language. Key themes of the workshop are the role of embodied cognition in AI understanding, cultural variations in gesture interpretation, and the integration of gestures into LLMs.
Participants include Giulia Belgiovine (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia), Lisa Gottschalk (Bielefeld), Sven Mayer (Dortmund), Alex Binh Vinh Duc Nguyen (KU Leuven), Tessa Verhoef (Leiden), Paul Vogt (Groningen).
Philipp Wicke is CAS Researcher in Residence during the summer semester 2025.
