Nikita Karpenko is a professor in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta. His research lies in the fields of algebra and algebraic geometry, with a focus on algebraic cycles, quadratic forms, and the theory of motives. He is a member of the CAS Research Group “Algebraic Groups, Motives and Applications”.
