Speaker: Prof. Paul Nurse, Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Christof Rapp

Paul Nurse is a British Nobel Prize-winning geneticist and currently President of the Royal Society London. He previously served as Director of the Francis Crick Institute in London and as President of Rockefeller University (2003–2011). In 2001, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of key regulators of the cell cycle. With his book What is Life (2020), he has made his research available to a wider audience. Christof Rapp is Professor of Ancient Philosophy at LMU and Director of CAS, where he currently serves as co-speaker of the CAS Research Focus “Meaning of Life”.

The event is part of the CAS lecture series “The Meaning of Life“, the CAS Research Focus “Speciation,” and the “BMC Trailblazer Lectures“.
