Adrian Danek is emeritus Professor of Cognitive Neurology at the University of Munich Neurology Department. He initiated the Munich Brain Course, is a member of the core faculty of the LMU Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences, and serves as a trustee of the Advocacy for Neuroacanthocytosis Patients.

Adrian Danek is long dedicated to the work packages in focus of the CAS Research Group “Tools for Transnational Neuropsychiatric Research”. As member of the local team he presented the history of Munich neuroscience at its kick-off meeting: e.g. Bernhard von Gudden (“the dream king´s psychiatrist” †1886) founded a school of experimental neuroanatomy and Alois Alzheimer first described the findings essential for diagnosing the disease that was soon to be named after him.

Other recent work includes a novel interpretation of “Ockham’s razor” (DOI: 10.1093/brain/awac159) and a pocket book for bedside cognitive testing (ISBN 978-3-17-043054-9).
