Dr. Andrei Lavrenov

Junior Researcher in Residence Winter Semester 2025/26

LMU Munich

Mathematics

Andrei Lavrenov currently holds a postdoctoral position at the Mathematical Institute at LMU Munich. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from LMU in 2020. His research interests include algebraic groups, cohomological invariants, generalized cohomology theories and motives.

Project at CAS:

Andrei Lavrenov’s research focuses on Morava K-theories, corresponding categories of motives and motivic invariants, and their relation to algebraic and geometric properties of twisted flag varieties. As a Junior Researcher in Residence at the Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) he will advance his work on the relation of Morava K-theory motives to cohomological invariants of algebraic groups.
