Claudia Bausewein is the director of the Department of Palliative Medicine at the LMU University Hospital and has served as president of the German Society for Palliative Medicine since 2021. In 2024, she was elected to the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. She is co-spokesperson for the CAS Research Focus Meaning of Life.
