Simona Feci is Professor of the History of Medieval and Modern Law at the University of Naples L'Orientale. Until summer 2025, she was Professor of Medieval and Modern Legal History at the University of Palermo’s Law Department.

She holds a Ph.D. in Family and Gender History from the University of Naples L’Orientale. Her publications primarily focus on women's legal history in early modern Italy, the history of the family, the justice system, and social history. Her current research explores the lives, careers, and culture of criminal judges in Baroque Rome and the Papal State, historical violence against women, women’s property rights in Italy’s past, the Roman Rota tribunal, and the administration of justice in international contexts.

Simona Feci is a member of Prof. Dr. Julia Burkhardt’s CAS Research Group “Femicide: Interdisciplinary Approaches to a Global Historical Phenomenon”. She will be in Munich as a Visiting Fellow in January and February 2026 and in September 2026.
