Prof. Dr. Detmar Meurers

Detmar Meurers is the Head of the Language and AI in Education Lab at the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM) and a Professor of Computational Linguistics at the University of Tübingen. His research operates at the intersection of computational linguistics and empirical educational research, focusing on second language acquisition as well as academic language development and use in subject-specific learning. His areas of specialization include the analysis of linguistic complexity and the development of intelligent tutoring systems that adaptively support individuals in a way taking multi-dimensional individual differences into account.

Detmar Meurers is at CAS upon the invitation of Dr. Maurice Fürstenberg (CAS Researcher in Residence/LMU) during the summer semester 2026.
