Among the many bestselling works by German author Hans Pleschinski are the popular novels Königsallee (2013) and Wiesenstein (2018), as well as the autobiographically influenced works Ostsucht (1993) and Bildnis eines Unsichtbaren (2002). In addition, Hans Pleschinski is a translator and editor of French-language sources, having published, for example, Voltaire's correspondence with Frederick the Great (2011). His most recent publication, Am Götterbaum (2021), is set in Pleschinski's hometown of Munich.

Hans Pleschinski has received various honours, including the Hannelore Greve Literature Prize (2006), the Nicolas Born Prize (2008), and the City of Munich Literature Prize (2014). In 2020, he was awarded the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Literature Prize. Pleschinski is also a member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts.
