Prof. Dr. Julia Burkhardt

Julia Burkhardt is Professor of Medieval History at LMU.

From 2019 to 2020, she was deputy director of the research project “Monasteries in the High Middle Ages” and held a temporary professorship for Medieval and Modern History in Bonn during the winter semester 2019/20. Her research focuses on central European history, political culture and gender history, the formation of political will, associations, and religious communities in the high and late middle ages.

At CAS, Julia Burkhardt is the spokesperson for the Research Group “Femicide: Interdisciplinary Approaches to a Global Historical Phenomenon”.
