Laurie Barge is a Research Scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology. She is interested in self-organizing chemical systems, the emergence of life on early Earth, hydrothermal vents and mineral-organic chemistry, and investigating habitability on other worlds.
She is a Visiting Fellow in October 2018 in the context of the CAS Research Group "Recreating the Origin of Life" led by Prof. Dr. Dieter Braun.
She will give a lecture on "Simulating prebiotic chemistry in hydrothermal systems on early earth and ocean worlds" in the context of the conference "Molecular Origins of Life" on 11 and 12 October 2018.
