Nikita Geldhauser is a Professor of Mathematics at the Mathematical Institute of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His research centers on motivic algebraic geometry, with a particular focus on the interplay between K-theory, cohomology theories, and the theory of motives, as well as on the theory of linear algebraic groups. He is especially interested in the structure and classification of algebraic groups, their representations, and their applications in arithmetic geometry. His work combines deep structural insights in pure mathematics with innovative methods, contributing significantly to the understanding of key objects in modern algebraic geometry.
He received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Munich in 2007 and subsequently held a junior professorship at the University of Mainz before being appointed to Munich in 2015. Nikita Geldhauser has been a visiting scholar and invited speaker at numerous internationally renowned institutions, including the Fields Institute (Toronto), the Isaac Newton Institute (Cambridge), the Institut Henri Poincaré (Paris), the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach, the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques in Luminy, and the Banff International Research Station (Canada).
