Richard Bourke is Professor of the History of Political Thought and a Fellow of King's College at the University of Cambridge. His primary research interests are in the history of political theory, with a focus on enlightenment and post-enlightenment ideas. His work has attracted various accolades and awards, including as joint winner the István Hont Memorial Book Prize in Intellectual History in 2016. Richard Bourke has held several fellowships in Germany and the United States. In 2018 he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy.
