Biology

Silke Robatzek is Group Leader at The Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich, UK.

She is a leading scientist in cell biology research of plant immunity. She has made key discoveries in vesicle-mediated transport of plant immune receptors. Currently she tries to understand how vesicle transport facilitates the detection and blocks infection of potentially plant pathogenic microbes.

Silke Robatzek is a Visiting Fellow at CAS from October 2017 to January 2018 upon invitation from Prof. Dr. Martin Parniske in the context of the CAS Research Focus Biology of Genomes. She will give a talk with the title "Cellular Basis of Immunity" at CAS on 6 December 2017.
