William J. Boone is Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (USA). He is widely recognized as an expert in empirical subject-matter education research, with a particular focus on teaching and learning processes in the natural sciences. His extensive expertise in psychometrics, as well as in the development and application of instruments for data collection, evaluation, and analysis of learning processes. Boone's work bridges subject-specific didactics with innovative methodological approaches, thereby making a significant contribution to evidence-based educational research.
In the summer semester of 2010, William J. Boone was already a Visiting Fellow at CAS. During this first stay, he gave a lecture at the Munich Center of the Learning Sciences (MCLS).
From October to December 2025, he returns to CAS as a Visting Fellow to continue his collaboration with Prof. Dr. Birgit J. Neuhaus (LMU, Biology Education).
