Prof. Dr. Benjamin List: Universal Catalysts for Our World

Benjamin List is Director of the Department of Homogeneous Catalysis at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung in Mülheim a. d. Ruhr. He co-founded the field of asymmetric organocatalysis – a process that can be used to construct molecules. For the discovery of this third class of catalysts, he was awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry together with Dave MacMillan.
