The Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology in Psychotherapy Research: Challenges and Potentials

Date:

23 July 2024 - 24 July 2024

Location:

Center for Advanced Studies Seestr. 13 80802 Munich

Workshop led by Dr. Johannes Kopf-Beck

In recent years, transdiagnostic mechanisms have attracted increasing interest in the treatment of various psychiatric disorders. The Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) is an evidence-based approach that differs from traditional categorical approaches and conceptualizes psychopathologies in a hierarchical and dimensional manner. The workshop develops ideas on how HiTOP could be a useful basis for research about the mechanisms of psychotherapy, and how treatment perspectives could complement and further promote the existing HiTOP concept.

Participants include: Christopher Conway (Fordham University), Eiko Fried (Leiden), Sabine Herpertz (Heidelberg), Katherine Jonas (Stony Brook University), André Kerber (FU Berlin), Shannon Sauer-Zavala (Kentucky)

Johannes Kopf-Beck is CAS Researcher in Residence during the summer semester 2024.
