Pavel Sechin is a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Marc Hoyois in the Department of Mathematics at Universität Regensburg.
His research lies in the fields of algebraic geometry and algebraic topology, with a focus on cohomology theories of algebraic varieties, including algebraic cobordism, Morava K-theory, and motivic invariants. His work explores deep structural relationships between algebraic cycles, cohomological operations, and classifying spaces of algebraic groups. He has contributed to key developments in the understanding of algebraic cobordism modules, the structure of Morava motives of quadrics and flag varieties, and the behavior of cohomological invariants such as the Rost and J-invariants.
Pavel Sechin is a member of Prof. Dr. Nikita Geldhauser`s CAS Research Group Algebraic Groups, Motives and Applications. He will be in Munich as a Visiting Fellow in the year 2025/2026.
