Algebraic Groups, Motives and Applications
Mathematics | Academic Year 2025/2026
The CAS Research Group is based in the field of motivic algebraic geometry. Its aim is to apply and further develop modern mathematical tools to explore the structure of algebraic varieties. A central focus lies in the study of algebraic groups through the lens of various oriented cohomology theories.
The work of the CAS Research Group is organized into three main areas:
- Advancing the state of the art of motivic homotopy theory.
- Establishing new results on Chow motives of projective varieties related to algebraic groups.
- Applying methods from algebraic cobordism and algebraic Morava K-theory.
The overarching objective is to deepen the understanding of algebraic groups, their motives, and their cohomological invariants through these interconnected approaches.
